Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced an 8% cut to the Universal Credit taper rate

Rishi Sunak announced an 8% cut to the Universal Credit taper rate in his Autumn Budget, from 63% down to 55%. Mr Sunak said the tax cut will allow working people claiming Universal Credit to keep more of their support while working more hours.
