UK Covid deaths rise to 160 and cases increase 13% on previous week

Department of Health figures show there were 50,091 new cases in the UK in the last 24 hours, up 13 per cent on the previous week. It marks the first time they had topped 50,000 since October 21 and follows a fortnight of growth.
