UK transfers Chagos Islands sovereignty to Mauritius securing US military deal

The UK has handed over sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, securing a deal to maintain a US base. Mauritius' PM Pravind Jugnauth welcomed the decision, while a campaigner expressed sadness that many of the exiled nationals.
