Blanket of snow lands in Lincolnshire with sub-zero temperatures

Snow has been falling across northern England and Scotland as Britain plunges into a winter freeze following an unusually mild November after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice from 4pm on Sunday.
