Rep. Garamendi on Defense Spending, Iran

Representative John Garamendi (D-CA), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, says "absolutely not" to approving a $1.5 trillion defense budget or money above current appropriations without a clear justification. He says the Iran war has shown Tehran it has "enormous leverage" over the Strait of Hormuz and any deal should at minimum restore open oil shipping and restart nuclear talks. Rep. Garamendi also argues Congress must reassert its war powers, saying President Trump is "clearly outside of the constitutional boundaries," and reacts to the FCC moving up the expiration of ABC station licenses.
