Pig farmers in Flanders whose activities have big environmental impact will be given 154 euro per pig on their farm if they decide to call it a day. The proposal to offer financial compensation to those involved in intensive pig farming in our region was made by the Flemish Environment Minister Zuhal Demir (nationalist) and the Flemish Agriculture Minister Jo Brouns (Christian democrat) and given the backing of the full Flemish Cabinet on Friday.
