One year after torrential rain and heavy floods caused havoc in eastern Belgium, the federal premier Alexander De Croo and the Walloon PM Elio Di Rupo have visited stricken areas to support the local residents, as have King Filip and Queen Mathilde. The 14 July floods left 39 people dead but also devastated the lives of many others.
