A 58-year-old man from the East Flemish municipality of Maldegem has died after suffering an allergic reaction to an insect bite. Philip Saelens was out cycling with other members of ‘De Landelijke Gulde’ (The Rural Guild) when he was bitten in the neck by an insect.
