The price of gas on the European wholesale gas market has reached a new high. On Monday, the price of 1 MWH of gas closed at 276 euro. When the markets reopened on Tuesday morning this had increased to 291 euro/MWh. It is feared that gas shortages during the coming winter will have a serious impact on the economy.
