School principals are facing tough times: an estimated 4 in 10 elementary schools in Flanders and Brussels are still short of teachers less than a week before the start of the new school year. The schools are also confronted with a new problem: various teachers are making a last-minute decision to choose another job. This is said to be the case in about 1 in 3 schools.
