Sunday was an historic day for Belgian cycling. For the first time in 44 years a Belgian cyclist finished as overall winner in a Grand Tour. After Saturday’s penultimate stage it was all ready all but certain that Remco Evenepoel would become the first Belgian to win a Grand Tour since 1978.
