During the first 8 months of this year the regional centres that process data on drivers caught exceeding the speed limit issued more than three million speeding fines. This is more than during the whole of 2021. The figures on the number of speeding fines issued so far this year were released by the Federal Interior Minister Annelies Verlinden (Flemish Christian democrat) on Monday morning.
