A wooden chest discovered at Antwerp City Hall has been found to date from the 14th century. Researchers analysed the wood to determine a clear date for the artefact. The chest is the original one used in the Middle Ages to archive the city’s most important documents and store the original charters awarded to the city and setting out its privileges.
