Nuclear watchdog admits mobile caused reactor close down | VRT NWS: news

Belgium’s nuclear watchdog, the FANC, has acknowledged that the automatic close down of reactor 3 at the Walloon nuclear power plant in Tihange earlier this month was due to electromagnetic interference by a mobile phone. It’s thought somebody had taken a mobile phone into an area where this is not allowed and that triggered the automatic close down.
