The Belgian Rail company NMBS will increase ticket prices with almost 9 percent as from next February. The organisation defending the interests of public transport users, TreinTramBus, says that this is not a good idea in times like these, when climate change is becoming an urgent issue: "This will not accelerate a modal shift."
