Cycle accidents caused by tram rails are a perennial, but in the fair city of Ghent they believe they have a solution: special lines on the ground will indicate the best place to cross tram rails at dangerous spots across the East Flemish capital. Improved safety is sorely needed because last year alone 500 cyclists ended up at Ghent A&E as a result of a nasty fall on tram rails.
