Limburg flan seeks European recognition | VRT NWS: news

Flanders and the Netherlands are filing a joined request for Limburg flan to be recognised and given a PGI, a protected geographical indication. Flemish farming minister Jo Brouns, who hails from our most easterly province, believes the designation is in the pocket. Once attributed Limburg flans will have to meet strict conditions and can only be baked in Belgian or Dutch Limburg Province.
