The Flemish region plans to introduce a deposit for cans and plastic bottles. The Flemish government has given Flemish environment minister Demir (nationalist) a mandate to negotiate with the country’s two other regions. The aim is to agree a uniform fee. To collect cans and bottles the Flemish government favours a digital system and smart blue refuse bags.
