Irregular migration to EU showed sharp decline in 2024

Border officials documented a decline in irregular migration to Europe last year, primarily due to a decrease in crossings along two key routes. However, numbers are increasing in other areas, partly driven by an influx of migrants from Bangladesh, Egypt and Vietnam.
