Reformation in Leipzig - City of Leipzig

Leipzig is closely linked with the Reformation. The Leipzig Disputation represented his final break with the Roman Catholic Church. Johann Sebastian Bach was an outspoken Lutheran and created uncounted works of protestant church music. And due to printing in Leipzig Luther was able to nationally dissemninate his beliefs - the Lutheran writings were printed in large numbers in Leipzig to be then distributed throughout the country in the form of pamphlets.
