Minister for Health Simon Harris Announces Pause in the Use of Transvaginal Mesh Devices
Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, announces that the department’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) has requested the HSE to pause the use of all procedures involving transvaginal mesh devices for the management of Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) or Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) in HSE funded hospitals, in cases where it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so.
