Ireland's premier Leo Varadkar said referenda to change the Constitution have been "defeated comprehensively".The referenda proposed amending the Constitution to include non-married relationships in the meaning of family and to replace references to a woman's role in the home with a new article acknowledging family carers.Parties in Government and opposition had supported the amendments, but the Taoiseach said voters had given the Government "two wallops".
