Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said by-elections are "always difficult for incumbent governments", adding he was "confident" his Government could lower taxes after inflation is "brought down".Sunak was answering a question about a prospective by-election in Peter Bone's Wellingborough seat. It follows heavy Conservatives losses in last week's Tamworth and Mid Bedfordshire by-elections and the prospect of another contest in Wellingborough following Mr Bone's suspension from the Commons.
