Government promises aid measures for energy crisis caused by Iran war

The government has been at pains to walk a narrow line between responding to Donald Trump's request to send ships to help in the Strait of Hormuz and defusing tensions in the region all the while attempting to allay fears in Britain over the potential for spiralling oil, gas and petrol costs.
