Cambodian American chef wants food, not traumatic history, to be the focus

Mawn - the Khmer word for “chicken” - is more than a noodle shop. It means representation. Chef Phila Lorn will be representing his dual cultures — Cambodian and Philly — in June at his first James Beard Awards as a nominee for Best Emerging Chef.
