Rare snowstorm hammers W. Oregon, SW Washington

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A rare and powerful snowstorm hammered parts of the Pacific Northwest on Thursday, dropping more than a foot of snow in parts of western Oregon and southwest Washington.
