'Pink Panther' jewel thief escapes Swiss prison

GENEVA (AP) — A member of the notorious "Pink Panther" jewel thief gang escaped from a Swiss prison after accomplices rammed a gate and overpowered guards with bursts from their AK-47s, police said Friday.
